A Gwinnett Stripers Game at Coolray Field

My number one, because nothing else in Gwinnett packs this much summer into one evening for this little money. The Stripers are the Atlanta Braves' Triple-A affiliate, which means you're watching players who'll be on TV in a Braves uniform next season — from a lawn seat that costs less than a movie ticket.

What It's Actually Like

Get there when gates open and let kids run the outfield-view lawn while you grab a beer and stadium food that goes way beyond hot dogs. The game itself is legitimately good baseball, but the between-innings entertainment is the show: races, giveaways, kids' zones, and on Sunday Fundays kids play catch on the field before the game and run the bases after. Friday night games end with a full fireworks display over the outfield.

What It Costs

Lawn tickets run $9 in advance, stadium seats start around $14 and top out near $30, and the all-you-can-eat seats — ticket plus unlimited hot dogs, burgers, popcorn, and soda — are about $37. Parking and concessions are what you'd expect, but a family of four can genuinely do this night for under $60.

The Atmosphere

Family-first minor league charm: relaxed enough that nobody minds a toddler meltdown, engaged enough that a September call-off race actually feels tense. The stadium sits in the middle of a live-work-play development, so the apartment balconies past the outfield wall are part of the skyline.

Where It Is

Coolray Field is at 2500 Buford Drive in Lawrenceville, right off GA-20 near the Mall of Georgia corridor and I-85/I-985. If you read my Top 3 Apartments list, this is the stadium Overlook at Gwinnett Stadium overlooks.
